FAQ
So you want to give digital scrapbooking a shot but don’t know where to start? Start here!
Q: What are the benefits of digital scrapbooking?
A: One benefit is that
it is very cost effective. Once you download a digital product, you can
use it over and over again! You can also manipulate colors, textures,
etc. to match your photos and other elements. Since digital
scrapbooking utilizes computer generated elements, that means no more
searching on your hands and knees for that tiny brad you dropped on
your shag carpet or cleaning up that bottle of paint you spilled on
your newly purchased scrap table. Not that those things have ever
happened to me… Another benefit of digital scrapbooking is the ability
to manipulate your photos. Want that awesome photo in black in white?
Need to take out Uncle Allen making goofy faces in that otherwise
perfect family photo? Digital scrapbooking will help you do all that
and more. And by more, yes I do mean you can hide that pimple
that popped up the morning before your neice’s college graduation. And
also? Your daughter will think you are totally cool when you photoshop
her onstage next to Hannah Montana.
Q: Do I have
to purchase an expensive photo editing program to scrapbook digitally?
And do I have to learn how to actually use said program?
A: Well that depends.
There are several affordable photo editing programs available for
digital scrapbookers. There are also several digital scrapbook products
available at SIStv’s Digital Boutique
Q: It’s all so overwhelming! Where do I begin?
A: Start small! Download
one of our digital quick pages and simply insert your pictures. Check
out our tutorials, which will walk you step by step through creating a
page . Join the message boards and post your questions in the digital
scrapbooking forum. The important thing is to learn one thing at a time
and have fun!
Q: Are there any books that you would recommend about digital scrapbooking?
A: Yes! Autumn Leaves
has several books on digital scrapbooking including Designing With
Digital. Another favorite is Renee Pearson’s Digital Designs and
Digital Designs 2.
Q: Okay. You convinced me. Now tell me how I use this stuff?

organize them on your copmuter, and make your first digital layout!
